RSID Dual Cassette, What is it? Benefits?

The RSID multiplex is a new product we’re very excited about. Imagine getting two results from one single strip! We have developed a test that makes it possible to test for semen and saliva on the same cassette. Analysts can use less evidence because you can get two results from a single extraction volume. The biggest advantage is there is no loss of sensitivity or specificity when testing for semen or saliva using the dual cassette, when compared to the individual tests for these body fluids.

We are using the same detection reagent, colloidal gold, for both tests, so both test lines will appear red. Since both test lines will be red, precision of the placement of the antibody lines on the membrane will be optimized so that analysts can confidently determine which body fluid is present based on the location of the test line.

When can we expect a release date?

Because of the requirement of a new cassette top and the time required for the new mold, we expect the dual cassette to be ready in winter 2018-19.
